Burlington Wine & Food is pleased to announce a partnership with a new beneficiary this year.
The Cancer Patient Support Foundation (CPSF) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing and furthering the availability of comprehensive psychosocial services to cancer patients and their families throughout Vermont and Northern New York.
The Foundation's vision is that all who face cancer can do so with dignity, confidence and serenity. Contributions to CPSF make possible a range of supportive services, including psychological, nutritional counseling, educational programs, and emergency financial assistance.
The Cancer Patient Support Foundation Emergency Fund aims to meet the immediate need of cancer patients in financial crisis due to their illness. It is used when all other support programs have been exhausted. Last year CPSF's Emergency Fund distributed over $223,000 to 649 local cancer patients throughout Vermont and Northern New York.
The organization hosts the annual "Culinary Classic" event, which pits local chefs against each other in a spirit of festive competition to see who will win each year's "Culinary Cup!" This year, more than $100,000 was raised during the event to support local cancer patients and their families.
